My career in the cell phone industry started in Miami, Florida, with National Communications, also known as NatCom. This collaboration with a family friend launched my deep dive into mobile communication technologies. We quickly became authorized agents for Bellsouth Mobility and Cellular One, leading providers in the region. My role expanded while working at Cellular Warehouse, a former Dick Anderson cellphone store located at Dadeland Plaza, known for its hidden passageway.

The transition of Cellular Warehouse to Let’s Talk, a pioneer in multi-carrier wireless retailing, was a crucial turning point. It was here that I realized my role extended beyond sales. Understanding the unique strengths and weaknesses of each carrier, I embraced the title of Wireless Consultant, which eventually led me to launch WirelessConsultant.net, solidifying my expertise in the industry.”

This strategic move allowed me to engage directly with Miami-Dade employees and others seeking Bellsouth Mobility services, further enhancing my visibility and establishing my role as a trusted industry advisor.

The Birth of Mobile Wiseguy

In 2000, after relocating to Tampa and joining a local business networking group, I was inspired by the invaluable advice of fellow members to develop a unique brand identity beyond the generic ‘Wireless Consultant.’ Thus, I adopted the distinctive moniker ‘Mobile Wiseguy,’ complete with a bespoke logo designed by a group member. This rebranding helped me stand out in the industry, giving my business a memorable and engaging identity that resonated with clients and peers alike.
