SEO is what’s needed to get your website found on the web, but why is it so difficult for the average person?
Today I read an article how Google’s AI Bard can be used for better SEO.
Search Engine Land article on Bard and SEO.
The above article on Search Engine Land states that Bard can be useful with these 4 areas of SEO.
- Schema markup generation
- On-page optimization
- Competitive analysis
- Technical SEO guidance
I do not about most people but I do not have time to learn these techniques and I personally do not understand how these articles are able to help the average person.
Schema markup generation
Schema markup is structured data that search engines, like Google, can use to better interpret your website and present your information in search results.
I wanted to find out what Bard would recommend for Shema markup on my site wirelessconsultant.net so I asked bard in the way Search Engine Land recommend.
Prompt: “Generate schema markup for: [INSERT URL]”
What I got had a generic physical address and phone number so I filled in the correct info.
{
“@context”: “https://schema.org”,
“@type”: “LocalBusiness”,
“name”: “Wireless Consultant”,
“description”: “Wireless Consultant provides wireless consulting services to businesses of all sizes.”,
“image”: “https://wirelessconsultant.net/logo.png”,
“telephone”: “+1-813-421-5545”,
“address”: {
“@type”: “PostalAddress”,
“streetAddress”: “9613 Lake Jasmin Dr”,
“addressLocality”: “Westchase”,
“addressRegion”: “FL”,
“postalCode”: “33626”,
“addressCountry”: “US”
},
“geo”: {
“@type”: “GeoCoordinates”,
“latitude”: 34.123456,
Now I have that information where do I put it into my WordPress site? I asked Bard and the answer did not help me but Bard did have this advice at the end. “If you need help adding Schema markup to your WordPress website, you can hire a WordPress developer or SEO specialist to help you.”
On-page optimization
Search Engine Land states, on-page optimization remains a cornerstone of any successful SEO strategy. I used their recommend way to ask Bard:
- Prompt: “Analyze the on-page optimization of [INSERT WEBPAGE URL] for the keyword [“KEYWORD”] with the goal of increasing the page’s ranking in the SERP for this keyword.”
- Analyze the on-page optimization of https://wirelessconsultant.net/att-business-solutions/ for the keyword AT&T Business Solutions with the goal of increasing the page’s ranking in the SERP for this keyword.
The above prompt entered in Bard did give results that I did implement into my website. I used the meta description and a title provided. I also used a heading: Benefits of Using AT&T Business Solutions and asked Bard for the content for this heading. The results change me Yoast SEO readability from red to green and SEO score to orange.
Competitive analysis
Search Engine Land stated, once you’ve identified your competitors, you can analyze their content strategies. These are the prompts that can be used in Bard to do a competitor research.
Competitor research can be done individually for each keyword or as a group.
- Individual prompt: “Analyze [INSERT COMPETITOR URL] as my competitor in the “KEYWORD OR NICHE NAME” niche and provide insights on their keyword usage, content structure, content gaps, and other insights.”
- Group prompt: “Analyze my competitors’ content in the “KEYWORD OR NICHE NAME” niche and provide insights on their keyword usage, content structure, content gaps, and other insights.”
The above individual prompt analyzing the competitor URL did give me good results for keywords but where and how to use these keywords still eludes me.
