I Built and Launched an Entire Business Website With ChatGPT

I used a domain I had owned for years to test whether ChatGPT could create, launch, and help optimize a complete business website from scratch. The result is TheCellularConsultant.com.

I have owned TheCellularConsultant.com for many years. I normally used the domain to forward visitors to WirelessConsultant.net, my established AT&T Business website.

When I realized ChatGPT could build an entire website from scratch, I became curious. I wanted to see what it could actually create—not just write a few paragraphs or suggest a page layout.

I stopped forwarding the domain and used it for a real test: could ChatGPT help me turn TheCellularConsultant.com into a complete business website?

This was not a sample page or mockup. The website was designed, written, built, launched, and optimized through ChatGPT, with me completing the steps it provided.

Why I Built a Second Wireless Consultant Website

WirelessConsultant.net is the main website I built and manage in WordPress. It contains detailed pages about AT&T Business plans, promotions, upgrades, activations, account procedures, and other topics that help business customers.

TheCellularConsultant.com let me test a completely different process. Instead of installing WordPress, selecting a theme, configuring plugins, and building every page myself, I described the business and goal inside ChatGPT.

The goal was simple: create a professional lead-generation website positioning me as one accountable consultant who helps businesses with AT&T wireless and internet solutions nationwide.

How the ChatGPT Website Build Worked

  1. I explained the business.I described my services, ideal customers, experience, and desired positioning.
  2. ChatGPT planned the website. It organized the site around services, benefits, process, company information, FAQs, and contact options.
  3. ChatGPT created the site.It wrote the content, selected the structure, built the sections, and created the visual presentation.
  4. The first build stalled. The process took around an hour. I walked away while it worked, and the build had failed when I returned.
  5. I refreshed and recovered the project. After refreshing, I continued instead of losing the build. We reviewed and completed the site.
  6. I connected the domain.ChatGPT walked me through connecting TheCellularConsultant.com from GoDaddy.
  7. I published the website.I made it public and confirmed the live domain loaded correctly.

ChatGPT Also Guided the Technical Setup

Building the visible site was only part of the project. A website must also be discoverable, measurable, and capable of generating business.

  • Connecting the GoDaddy domain
  • Making the website public
  • Adding the site to Google Search Console
  • Verifying domain ownership through DNS
  • Finding and submitting the sitemap to Google
  • Submitting the site to Bing
  • Adding analytics and conversion tracking
  • Reviewing titles, descriptions, structure, and calls to action
  • Checking the mobile layout and contact path
  • Adding relevant links to WirelessConsultant.net
  • Reviewing social-sharing information and previews

A good-looking website is not enough. I need to know whether people find it, what they do after arriving, and whether it produces calls, messages, and qualified business leads.

What ChatGPT Created

  • Clear positioning around one accountable business consultant
  • AT&T Business wireless and internet service sections
  • Information about upgrades, new lines, account support, and connectivity
  • A step-by-step explanation of how I work
  • My 37-plus years of wireless industry experience
  • Nationwide business support
  • FAQs that answer common concerns
  • Multiple calls to action and a complete contact path
  • Links to deeper WirelessConsultant.net resources where appropriate

It Did Not Work Perfectly the First Time

It would be misleading to say I typed one prompt, waited a few minutes, and received a flawless finished website.

The initial build took over an hour and failed while I was away. I had to refresh the project, confirm what had been saved, and continue through the remaining steps.

There were also details requiring follow-up after publishing, including domain verification, analytics, conversion tracking, search engine submission, social-sharing settings, and additional SEO review.

My early conclusion: ChatGPT can dramatically reduce the work required to create a business website, but the owner still needs to review the result, complete outside account steps, test everything, and make business decisions.

WordPress Website vs. ChatGPT-Built Website

WirelessConsultant.net

Built and managed by me in WordPress. It contains years of detailed AT&T Business content, service pages, guides, and SEO work.

This is not a perfect controlled experiment. WirelessConsultant.net is older, has much more content, and already has search history. Monitoring the new site will still show how quickly an AI-built business website can be discovered and whether it begins producing meaningful traffic and leads.

Was Building the Website With ChatGPT Worth It?

Based on the build and launch process, yes.

I ended up with a complete professional website without manually designing every section or building it inside WordPress. ChatGPT also stayed involved after the design by helping with the domain, search engines, tracking, SEO review, and troubleshooting.

The real answer, however, will come from the results. A website is valuable only if it supports the business.

What I Will Track Next

I will document the progress of TheCellularConsultant.com here on SEOlutions.com.

  • Indexing: How long Google and Bing take to index the site
  • Impressions: Which searches cause it to appear
  • Rankings: Whether it moves up in search results
  • Clicks: How many searchers visit
  • Engagement: What visitors do after arriving
  • Conversions: Contact actions, calls, and inquiries
  • Backlink impact: Whether connections with WirelessConsultant.net help either site
  • Content needs: Whether the smaller AI-built site needs more pages

This post is the starting benchmark. Future updates will show what happens after launch—not just what the website builder promised.
